Coronavirus Update 5/19/2020

May 19, 2020

I hope that you and your families continue to have good health. I am sure you will never forget the spring and summer of 2020.

Yesterday, Governor Baker unveiled the framework for his statewide reopening plan. While helpful, there is still much more planning to be done. A state-wide sub-group of higher education officials are meeting weekly to provide additional guidance to colleges and universities across the Commonwealth.

Today, the Executive Staff and I made the decision to continue our practice of working remotely through the month of June. This extension is in the best interest of our community and will allow our internal working groups the time necessary to develop the appropriate contingency plans, policies, and procedures. We will evaluate the reopening of the campus on a month to month basis.

As noted in an earlier email, our plans may include a staggered schedule of staff returning to offices, new safety measures, signage, social distancing and more. These are just a few of the many considerations under discussion.

Throughout this crisis, your health and well-being remain our top priority. Please remain well and safe.

Yours,

Carol
