This morning we said goodbye to the beautiful, yet unique, Shack Up Inn. I got up a little early and got to take some neat photos. Grandma's House of Pancakes was our chosen breakfast place where we enjoyed delicious eggs, pancakes, and grits! Yum! After breakfast, we boarded the bus again, this time to start the long journey down to Louisiana. There was plenty of sleeping and plenty of snacking - trust me! We stopped along the way for a quick bite to eat and to refuel, but after five whole hours, we arrived in Baton Rouge.

We were so happy to discover that it's sunny and 68 degrees in Baton Rouge. We headed into the Capitol Park Museum, where we learned a lot about Louisiana history, culture, and tradition. A couple of us took a stroll to the capitol building and sat on the steps to enjoy the southern sun. We also made a quick detour to visit Mike the Tiger; he's LSU's living mascot. He is the seventh tiger to join the LUS family and the university has its own medical staff dedicated to taking care of him. While he seemed out of place, in the middle of a college campus, his home was spacious. We boarded the bus one more time to make our final trek to New Orleans!

When we finally made it to Camp Restore, we were greeted with open arms! We all enjoyed a nice home cooked meal of pasta and even some cake for dessert. After we got the grand tour, we got ourselves settled in our rooms. Overall it was a day of travel, but everyone is super excited to see what Camp Restore has planned for us tomorrow!
