91¿ì²¥ University Celebrates the Class of 2022 with a Return to In-person Commencements

Honorary degree recipients include The Honorable Richard E. Neal, Dr. Lynn Pasquerella, Ruth E. Carter and Noel R. Leary

More than 800 91¿ì²¥ students from the class of 2022, joined by members of the classes of 2020 and 2021, were able to experience the pomp and circumstance of 91¿ì²¥’s 125th traditional commencement exercise as they donned caps and gowns, walked to receive their diplomas, shared moments with their classmates and relished the celebratory cheers of their families and friends.

In the days leading up to the main graduation ceremony, smaller events, including the doctoral hooding and Rose Ceremony, among others, took place across campus, further adding to the excitement and joy experienced by all the 91¿ì²¥ graduates for a job well done! Carpe Diem!

Note: Ruth Carter and Noel Leary were unable to attend and were awarded their honorary degrees in absentia. We wish them our sincere congratulations!

The 125th Commencement Ceremony

Thousands of families and friends attended the in-person event at the MassMutual Center in Springfield on Sunday, May 15.

The Pathfinder Award is presented to a graduate from The American Women’s College Online who achieves academic excellence while balancing her family life, career and community service responsibilities. This year’s recipient was Paula Geary ’22, shown here with Trustee Jeanette Weldon on her right and President Sandra Doran.
The Eagle Award is presented to a traditional undergraduate student who demonstrates leadership in campus activities and athletics while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Lydia Clifford ’22 received the award, presented by President Sandra Doran.

The Vana Nespor Rose Ceremony for The American Women’s College

Held on Saturday, May 14 in Mills Theatre on the Longmeadow campus.

An important and emotional highlight of the Rose Ceremony comes when graduates dedicate their roses to those who have inspired and supported them in their academic journey.

The Doctoral Hooding Ceremony

91¿ì²¥ was honored to celebrate the achievements of our doctoral degree recipients and their faculty mentors. The special event was held on campus on Saturday, May 14 with hundreds of families and friends in attendance.

Physician Assistant Program Celebration Ceremony

Members of 91¿ì²¥â€™s Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program were honored during their commencement ceremony on May 6. The 28 graduates of the class of 2022 gathered on campus in person to celebrate their achievements.
