Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Graduate Admission Requirements

Prospective students may apply for admission to the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program throughout the year. Classes start every January, May, and September.

It is strongly recommended that students have a working knowledge of statistics, research methods, abnormal psychology, personality, and development. 


For consideration, applicants must submit the following admission requirements:

  1. A completed application -
  2. Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts (a GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred)
  3. An original essay of 300-500 words on the topic "Why the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is important to my personal and professional goals"
  4. A current resume
  5. Two recommendations -
  6. A signed program requirement form -
