English as a Second Language (MSEd/EdS) Program Options

91快播's English as a Second Language graduate program is designed for candidates who are interested in teaching English as a Second Language. The program has track options available for Massachusett's initial license for teaching PreK-6 or 5-12 students. There is also an option available for non-licensure. Courses are offered 100% online.

A distinctive emphasis of the program is its holistic view of English language acquisition relating to first and second language, linguistics, language assessment, methods for teaching ESL, historical, legal, and philosophical bases for ESL, including inclusion in content and general education classes, sheltered-ESL classes, pullout classes, and bilingual programs. 


MSEd/EdS in Englishas a Second Language Program Options:

Initial Licensure PreK-6: 

91快播's MSEd/EdS in English as a Second Language grades PreK-6 with Massachusetts Initial Licensure can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. Courses are offered 100% online.

MSEd 39 credits

EdS 42 credits
The EdS is an advanced degree that provides teachers who currently hold a master’s degree with an area of specialization. Students must complete the same coursework as the MSEd with the addition of SPE540.


Initial Licensure 5-12: 

91快播's MSEd/EdS in English as a Second Language, grades 5-12 with Massachusetts Initial Licensure, can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. Courses are offered 100% online.

The EdS is an advanced degree that provides teachers who currently hold a master’s degree with an area of specialization. Students must complete the same coursework as the MSEd with the addition of SPE540.


Non-Licensure: 

91快播's MSEd/EdS in English as a Second Language Non-Licensure track option is for students NOT seeking Massachusetts Initial Licensure in English as a Second Language. Courses are offered 100% online.
