English as a Second Language

Courses Offered 100% Online

Strategies to Teach ELLs.

Enrolling now for the January 13, 2025 start.

English Language Learners (ELLs) are among the fastest-growing populations in U.S. schools. Institutions are in need of teachers who are trained to work with the ELL population. These educators understand the process of teaching English as a second language (ESL), while also working to assist students in achieving success in all content areas.

91快播's MSEd/EdS in English as a Second Language prepares educators on how to effectively develop the English skills of their students while fostering an understanding of ESL methodology and pedagogy. Our dynamic courses explore how students learn additional languages and strategies, techniques and best practices that values their linguistic and cultural diversity.

Our MSEd/EdS in English as a Second Language has 3 Program Options:

  • Initial Licensure PreK-6: For students seeking a Massachusetts Initial License in English as a Second Language PreK-6
  • Initial Licensure 5-12: For students seeking a Massachusetts Initial License in English as a Second Language 5-12
  • Non-Licensure: For students seeking the MSEd or EdS degree without licensure

Dr. Kristen Lech, program director, shares highlights of being an ESL teacher.
