Susan Capasso, MS, EdD, CGC

Susan has worked as US Public Health Officer in research at the National Institutes of Health, as a cytogenetic technologist and as a genetic counselor at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and as a genetic counselor at the Cancer Center at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport Connecticut. Susan has also worked as a science professor teaching nursing, medical and allied health students anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, genetics, biochemistry and microbiology and chemistry for over thirty years both online and in the traditional classroom in Connecticut at various institutions.  Susan has developed many courses, and degree programs, as well as, written and received multiple grants in many areas, including increasing diversity in the nursing and allied health programs. She developed and received funds for seven years to offer a forensic summer camp to minority students interested in healthcare careers.

She also has extensive experience in accreditation and administration of higher education programs and has been a site visitor for multiple accrediting agencies. She's held positions as a Dean of Academic Services and the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty at St. Vincent’s College in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
