Laura Anderson, DNP, WHNP-BC, CNM
Dr. Anderson is in clinical practice at the University of Utah hospital at the Obstetric Emergency Department. She is dual board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. Her clinical areas of expertise include reproductive medicine, obstetric emergencies and women’s health. Dr. Anderson practiced as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Planned Parenthood with an emphasis on transgender care. Her teaching responsibilities include working as a clinical trainer for Nexplanon, course development and design, and clinical instruction.
Dr. Anderson earned dual bachelor degrees in Nursing and Exercise Sport Science at the University of Utah along with the designation of Undergraduate Research Scholar. She has been involved in research of recruitment strategies for video-recorded studies and prenatal care curriculum development for women on Methadone and Suboxone therapies. She completed a doctorate in Women’s Health and Midwifery at the University of Utah and is currently a George S. and Dolores Dore’ Eccles Graduate Fellow. Her doctoral project developed a group prenatal care curriculum for women on Methadone and Suboxone replacement therapies.
